(recently discovered that maybe google chrome doesn't work a bit even for me while internet explorer is still fine and dandy...so try a different browser if you encounter problems downloading)
For PC people:
Click the font you want and save to your desktop. Open the Fonts Folder. You'll find this in the Control Panel. If you are using Category View, click on Appearance and Themes and there is a link to the Fonts folder on the left. Arrange your window so you can see the desktop behind it and drag the font into the Font Folder. It should install and be ready to use!
Here's how I was able to install the font. Went to my Fonts Folder, clicked on file at the top of the page, then clicked on install new font, scrolled through and found the folder the font was installed to, clicked on that folder and then hit ok. IT WORKED!! Maybe this info will help you if the question should arise again. I'm sure there is probably a better way but it worked for me. My system is Windows XP.
For Mac users:
Right click on the font file you want to download. Then choose Save Link As. This brings up the Save As screen. Choose your desktop or other place to save the file to and click “save.” Then go to Finder. Find where you saved the file and double click on the file name. It should open the font and show you all the letters. There should be an “Install Font” button to click on at the bottom of the font display screen. When you click “Install font” it automatically adds the font to your fonts file. That is all. It should be ready to use. If it does not show up in Word you might have to restart as a first step in finding out why. But it worked for me each time I downloaded following those steps.
hey allie...I'm a mac user without a right click button. if any of you other mac users are like me, hold down "alt option" then click on the font...then save to the desktop, then when you open it, it should say "install font" at the bottom. click, install, enjoy! if you still can't find it in word, try restarting, and/or looking for the font under "template." my michelle one came out there. good luck, we love allie!
