home made lovely guest post

you guys I'm a guest blogger.

a couple weeks ago I shared our home (in clean mode) on heather's lovely blog.

doesn't she even make my name look lovely?

december daily scrapbook album

a month's worth of Christmas magic crammed into one book with lots of glitter and it jingles.
sounds like a very good thing to me.

I set my book up giving one opened-up 2 page layout to each day of December.
we're going on an amazing adventure the last week of the month so I wanted to give room to include that rather than cut off at the 25th.

it is already a fat book which is how I like it.
I used:
(fyi in case you're interested. I'm not affiliated or anything fancy like that)
Studio Calico December Daily kit
stuff from Crate Paper Bundled Up
piles of old Christmas supplies I've had since maybe 2005
plenty of golden glitter and real live jingle bells
vintage that's REAL vintage cards that my grandpa pulled out of his basement from the 50s
I already added some details to days that I know what we'll be doing.
the rest I'll add in as it comes.
while I did label each day I won't be too particular about where it all goes exactly.
if we have a snowball fight, make gingerbread houses and dress up as elves all in one day and then sit around like duds for the next 4 I will be spreading out the magic.

family pictures 2013

You guys.
I love Halloween so much.

Not necessarily scary Halloween, but fun wonderful imagination Halloween.

And my family got 400 bonus points from me for playing along.
My husband earned 398 of those points for the combination of glamour women's wig, moustache, and baby legs turned pirate socks.

And for knowing that the hook is on the left hand.

And my sister for agreeing to the shell bra.
What's a lagoon full of mermaids without at least one shell bra?

And then they all got sprinkles on top for agreeing to the pictures in the freeeezing cold.
Oh, Wyoming.

All the sources I can think of:

peter pan: got the basics from make it love it blog
feathers for peter and tiger lily: made blog
captain hook: bought it online
arsenal: walmart
mermaid skirt: inspired technique from the girl inspired blog
rainbow over mermaid lagoon: hula hoop + pvc pipe + tape  + rainbow slipcover sewed last minute
london phone booth: oddly enough, downtown in my town in Wyoming

Last year.
Non-blogged, I do believe.
Even more magical if you happen to know where the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is located.
Max will always have a special place in his heart for Bert.

October 28, 2013

Since my last posting I:

-had family portraits taken twice. What the what? Both for other people's fundraisers and I found out I am not a person that buys outfits for pictures but rather digs through closets a couple hours before hoping that what I want is clean. And it usually works out just fine.

-went to a party. Planned a different party. Had a huge party 5 days after I had decided on that party. Partied.

-enjoyed a day off of school, and 2 half days off of school....so 2 days off of school? Whatever I like having my kids around.

-participated in real Canadian Thanksgiving with a real Canadian. We still all laughed at her when she called the garbage disposal the garbarator.

-braved the crowds of Utah for Cornbellies on the busiest day ever and experienced the Waffle Love truck for the first time ever and it was oh so good.

-went to Hogwarts again.

-sewed 2 Halloween costumes and I still have my own on the to do list so I better go do that.

how about this?

remember when I found my blogging purpose? ya, that was so great. but then the only video I've done since then is that one of Max on instagram. for the time being you can be on my real live blog and click right over on the right to see it. It's got the play arrow.

then I was thinking that I would do one of those fabulous blogging schedules and that would get me going. you know when people are all WHATUP WEDNESDAY and #tbt and all cool? I really like lots of those!

so I thought about the kinds of things I do a lot and the kinds of pictures I take a lot and tried to come up with catchy titles.

this one works. I do make lots of stuff. and "stuff" matches with "saturday".

I guess I can pull it together and do two kinds of stuff on Saturday. I used to be a blogger.

but then I have a bunch of pictures where I lovingly just photographed our crap. those make people feel good, right?

and then I have a problem (really) having to do with rearranging my house more frequently than a person should. this one's a bit weird but we're going with it for now.

and then I spend loads of time doing PTA stuff like making these boys sit still on a chair while I make copies of school shirt order forms. would people even want to see that? come on now.

then I could totally do segments where I point out how lucky Evanston residents are. But can I really do that every day? let's be honest. we already had multiple snow storms.

I'll think on it. probably for 4-6 months. bye. unless I get 4 million actual comments. then I'll blog again tomorrow.
